In continuation of his consultation with all the Local Governments in Imo state, Governor Hope Uzodimma has received Oguta Local Government Stakeholders.
The Oguta Local Government Stakeholders were led by Bishop Gideon Nweze with other key leaders like Engr. Ernest Nwapa, Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu and others.
Speaking Earlier, the Leader of the Oguta Local Government delegation, Bishop Gideon Nweze, commended Senator Hope Uzodimma for the fatherly and leadership role he has played in the development of Oguta Local Government which “no other Governor has been seen doing in like manner”.
He commended the Governor for ongoing developmental strides in the region and also called for more developmental projects in their communities.
Engr. Ernest Nwapa lent his voice of commendation to the Governor in the ways and manner he has successfully connected Imo State to the Center.
“We have seen how you’ve connected the state to the federal government and we have seen your capacity in Governance and we commend you, your excellency” Engr Ernest Nwapa stated.
The Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma in his response commended the Oguta people for their support and assured them on his plans to improve areas of Strength and work on areas of weakness.
Governor Uzodimma disclosed to them “strangely and wrongly style of Governance over the years” he met on ground while expressing concerns.
“He further stated “How can Oguta, richly endowed be the source point to hire thugs?”
The Governor outlined several projects awarded in Oguta by ISOPADEC which are 20 bed General hospital, Reconstruction of general hospital Oguta, reconstruction of Oguta Girls Secondary school, and much more.
The Governor therefore, stated “I will not allow or encourage sharing of money to thugs and placing them on payroll” as their oil wealth is used for the development of their communities.
Addressing the complaint of the misbehavior of the Oil Companies in the Oil region, the Governor promised to see to it that Oil Companies are made to develop the Oil communities.
He assured them of coming to right all wrongs in Imo State and to return power back to the people.
