Benue State Governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has denied allegations made by 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi that he is politicizing and blocking visits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
In this TVC News interview, Governor Alia said Obi failed to follow due protocol before attempting to visit the camps, stressing that security and proper communication are essential.
He emphasized his responsibility to protect the IDPs and insisted that neither he nor his office was informed of Obi’s planned visit.
Alia also dismissed claims that he was unreachable, pointing out that his aides were available for contact.
