President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he has received calls from people asking about his son, Seyi Tinubu’s political ambitions, saying that he is “running after his father.”
Speaking on Monday, October 19, 2026, at an event organised by the City Boy Movement, Tinubu praised Seyi for mobilising young Nigerians and engaging with them without seeking a political title or public office.
“I have gotten some calls within the last few weeks asking me what Seyi is running for. He is running after his father,” the President said.
Tinubu commended his son and his colleagues for investing their time in reaching out to young people, listening to their concerns and organising them.
He expressed pride in their efforts, noting that Seyi had carried out the activities humbly without asking for a title or office.
The President, however, urged his son to do more, serve harder and set an example that future generations would be proud to follow.
“Nigeria is watching, so they know that to serve your country is the highest honour,” Tinubu added.
