Ahead of the installation of Prince Akeem Ogungbagbe as the Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa following his recent approval by the Osun State Government.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Iloko Ijesa held a 3-day revival to usher in the coronation of the new traditional monarch and for a peaceful reign.
In his sermon, Evangelist Peter Peter during the revival told the community chiefs and all the citizens of the community to always support the monarch with prayer and not to confuse him with any ungodly power.
He said, the new king was choose by God not by the power of idols.
He however appreciated the good people of Iloko Ijesa and urged them to fully support the reign of the new monarch if installed in no long time.
Meanwhile, the people of Iloko Ijesa in a separate comments commended the regent, High Chief Shola Ogunsanya, Orisa of Iloko Ijesa and other chiefs for their good leadership qualities for the last eight years following the demise of Oba Oladele Olashore, and for maintaining peaceful coexistence among all and sundry.
The residents of Iloko Ijesa however applauded the good gesture of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, governor of the state of Osun for approving the choice of the people as king.

On his part, the Orisa (second in command to the king), High Chief Shola Ogunsanya thereafter rolled out installation/Coronation programmes of the new monarch in what he tagged “Installation of the monarch as a man of God”.
High Chief Ogunsanya said, “the new king is expected to make a triumphant entry in Iloko Ijesa on Monday 3rd May, 2021 being his first official visit after his approval”.
“On 5th of May Installation of the Monarch will commence as well traditional coronation ceremony, while the new king will on 24th of July receive Staff of Office from state government of Osun.
“I urge all Iloko Ijesa sons and daughters both home and in diaspora to grace the epoch making event heralding a new dawn in the history of our ancient community”
