In a bold reaffirmation of his political mission, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has distanced himself from partisan conflicts, declaring that his primary battle is with the systemic challenges confronting ordinary Nigerians — not with political opponents.
“I am not fighting Tinubu. I am busy fighting against hunger, poor education, and poor healthcare for Nigerians,” Obi stated in a recent media interaction, directly addressing speculation that his political activism is targeted at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He emphasized that his political ideology transcends party lines or power struggles. “I am in coalition with the Nigerian people. Politics, for me, is not about holding a position, it’s about making things work,” he added.
Obi, widely known for his reformist approach and data-driven advocacy, reiterated his commitment to tackling the root causes of Nigeria’s underdevelopment. According to him, the future of the country lies in solving real problems — not engaging in political theatrics.
His statement comes at a time of heightened political tension and speculation over potential realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, Obi insists that his focus remains on issues that affect the masses, including the rising cost of living, the state of education, and Nigeria’s overw helmed healthcare system.
