…insists Nlemigbo is Neither a Member nor Party Chairman[sub][/sub]

Following the purported letter of suspension making the rounds, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Imo state, Daniel Nwafor, has cleared the air.

Reacting to the letter, he stated that the letter was signed by a former member of the party, Prince M.O. Nlemigbo, whom he alleged had been impersonating him.

The state Chairman hinted that Prince Nlemigbo has since been suspended from APC by leaders of the party in his Ezinihitte Ward in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state.

In the letter suspending Nlemigbo which was made available to newsmen, his suspension from the party took effect from the 2nd of January, 2019 and signed by the following principal executives of the APC in his ward: Opara Henry, the Ward Chairman, Clinton Gbamant, Sectetary, Adaiheoma Ofoegbu woman leader and Domike Lawrence, the Youth Leader.

In his words, “Chief Nlemigbo has long seized to be a member of APC. His suspension came from his ward and ratified by his LGA and state. The party begins from the ward and ends at the ward. He is ignorant of the provisions of the party constitution. He is not an active member of the party. Somebody already under suspension does not have locus as a party man again. Nlemigbo remains under suspension!” Nwafor emphasized.

Speaking further, Nwafor said he finds Nlemigbo’s action to be ridiculous considering the fact that he lacks the locus standi as a suspended member of the party and he is not in any way the party’s Chairman neither does he occupy any executive office in the party.

He added that, moreover, suspension of any member of the party originates from the ward and not to be signed by one imposter who claims to be Chairman.

The letter which long suspended Chief Nlemigbo from APC in January 2019, reads:

“Having carefully considered the complaint of deliberate activities which are against the interest of our party and the consequent rebellious position which is also at variance with the directives of the leaders of the party in the ward all of which are contrary to the constitution and policy of our great party, we write to notify you of the decision to suspend you from the party with effect from the date of this letter, you are hereby banned from attending party activities in the ward and your membership of the party stands suspended.”
