Former Cross River State Governor and ex-Senator, Liyel Imoke, has praised Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for what he described as a remarkable transformation of the state within three years.
Imoke made the remarks on Sunday, August 23, 2026, during an interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held in Umuahia to mark the 35th anniversary of Abia State.
The former governor said his assessment of Otti’s administration was based not only on reports he had heard but also on projects he personally inspected before attending the thanksgiving service.
According to Imoke, the scale of development under Governor Otti was comparable to the achievements of three administrations put together.
He declared that Otti had “accomplished what Abia lost in three decades,” while expressing confidence that the ongoing transformation of the state was evidence of positive change.
Imoke also urged Abians to continue supporting the administration and praying for its success, describing Abia as “God’s own State” under Otti’s leadership.
The thanksgiving service, themed “The Rise of a New Abia,” was organised to commemorate 35 years since the creation of the state in 1991.
