A 22-year-old Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after expressing frustration over the rising cost of petrol and calling for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be voted out of power in the 2027 general elections.

In a video circulating on social media, the young woman compared the price of petrol in 2020 with what she said she paid in 2026, using the cost of filling a 25-litre gallon as an example.

She said she recently spent ₦7,000 to buy four litres of petrol, describing the development as alarming.

> “I went to get fuel yesterday. Guys, four litres of fuel is ₦7,000. Four litres of fuel is ₦7,000,” she said.

Recounting her experience in 2020, she said she had about ₦5,000 after receiving money from her father while visiting her grandparents in Lagos.

According to her, she used the money to buy petrol and was able to fill a 25-litre gallon.

> “I went to the petrol station with that 25-litre gallon. I had to charter a keke. I filled that 25-litre gallon with ₦5,000,” she recalled.

The lady questioned the economic situation in the country and challenged Nigerians who support President Bola Tinubu and the APC to explain the reasons behind their support.

She repeatedly called for the APC to leave power in 2027, saying Nigerians would be “in trouble” if the party remained in government.

> “What is happening in this country? Why are we quiet? Why are we quiet? What is your reason for supporting this man? For him to come back for the next term? What has this man actually done for the people?”
