The Kaduna State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, says the party is yet to resolve its governorship candidacy for the 2027 election, dismissing Barrister Mohammed Sani Abbas’ claim that he won the party’s primary.

The Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Mordecai Ibrahim, stated this at a news conference in Kaduna.

Following controversies surrounding the NDC governorship candidate in Kaduna, the party says the issue remains unresolved.

Addressing journalists, the Kaduna State Chairman, Mordecai Ibrahim, said no final decision has been taken between the two leading aspirants, Barrister Mohammed Abbas and Senator Danjuma La’ah.

The party says, with no consensus reached between the aspirants, a substitution primary election will be required to produce a valid governorship candidate for Kaduna State.

The State Working Committee rejected Abbas’ claim that he participated in and won a valid governorship primary, insisting that the party is yet to resolve the matter.

The Kaduna NDC leadership says the process must be conducted in line with the party’s established procedures as it works to resolve the dispute over its 2027 governorship ticket.
