Some residents of Kano State who reportedly attended an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally have expressed dissatisfaction over the amount allegedly given to them for participating in the event.
The residents were said to have complained after receiving ₦3,000, with some claiming that the amount was insufficient to cover their transportation expenses.
In a video circulating on social media, some of the participants could reportedly be heard expressing frustration over the payment.
“If you people keep giving us ₦3,000 for APC campaign, we won’t come again. Some of us borrowed transport fare to come to the campaign ground, and they are only paying us ₦3,000,” one of the participants was quoted as saying.
The reported complaint has sparked reactions online, with social media users debating the practice of providing participants with money to attend political rallies.
However, the exact circumstances surrounding the payment, including who authorised it and whether the ₦3,000 was officially designated as transportation or mobilisation allowance, could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.
