Nigerian singer Kcee has responded after DeDe Pammy UduBunch raised concerns over his latest single, “Celebration,” which is connected to a sound created about two decades ago by the late Afamefuna Aneke, popularly known as Pammy UduBunch.
Reacting to the controversy, Kcee explained that the song was created to celebrate and preserve the legacy of the young music legend and the sound he introduced years ago.
According to Kcee, Pammy UduBunch created the original sound about 20 years ago, describing it as a sound that helped shape the culture.
He said the intention behind Celebration was to retain the essence of the original sound while adding a contemporary touch and introducing it to a wider audience.
Kcee wrote:

20 years ago, a young legend, Afamefuna Aneke (Pammy UduBunch), created a sound that shaped our culture. Today, that same sound lives on, bigger and louder.
This year, December 28th, 2026, we joined the family to celebrate this young legend and everything he has created before leaving us.
Keeping the soul, adding the sauce, and bringing it back to the world stage.”»
The singer also expressed appreciation to his team and the creatives involved in the project, saying the song represents the importance of honouring the past while celebrating progress.
He added that the audio and video for Celebration are now available on streaming platforms and encouraged fans to continue sharing videos using the song.
