Kemi Olunloyo Raises Alarm Over Safety of Nnamdi Kanu, Alleges Security Concerns

Kemi Olunloyo and Nnamdi Kanu

Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has expressed concern over the safety of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, amid reports of heightened security operations and potential unrest in parts of northern Nigeria.

In a statement circulated on Friday, Olunloyo called for divine protection for Kanu, who is currently in custody, warning that emerging security threats and alleged intelligence failures could place him at risk. She alleged that Kanu may have been deliberately exposed to danger, referencing Sokoto State as an area experiencing increased militant activity.

Oluleye dismissed claims branding Kanu as a terrorist, describing such narratives as “misinformation amplified by mainstream media.” She argued that the real terrorist networks, according to her, are active in the affected regions and claimed that local traditional authorities are aware of the sponsors behind the violence.

“No weapon fashioned against him shall prosper,” Olunloyo stated, urging the federal government to ensure Kanu’s safety and uphold his fundamental rights.
