Drama unfolded yesterday when popular entertainer and entrepreneur, Peller, reportedly disqualified over 20 Master’s Degree holders who applied for a cameraman position at his media outfit.
One of the female applicants, visibly distraught, took to social media to voice her anger and disappointment. According to the lady, she had travelled a long distance, spent money on transportation, and prepared her CV for the interview, only to discover that none of the applicants was considered qualified for the job.
She further alleged that Peller turned the entire exercise into content for his YouTube and TikTok platforms, live-streaming the interview sessions and raking in views and online engagement while the applicants were unknowingly being used for entertainment.
“I can’t believe I travelled this far, spent my money and time, only for him to tell us we’re not qualified — after using us for his content. This life no balance,” the lady lamented in a trending video.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about the exploitation of job seekers for social media clout and the disregard for their time and resources.
Many social media users have criticised Peller’s actions, describing it as insensitive and unprofessional, while others joked about how a person with no degree managed to outsmart Master’s Degree holders.
As at press time, Peller is yet to officially respond to the backlash.
This was very well laid out and easy to follow.
