Gospel minister Lawrence Oyor has expressed admiration for former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, saying his political career stands out in a country where public figures are often faced with allegations of wrongdoing.
Oyor stated that regardless of whether Nigerians support Obi’s presidential ambition, they should be surprised by the level of prosperity, capacity, political influence and power he has attained without, according to him, having serious allegations successfully pinned on him.
“Whether you want to vote for Peter Obi for president or not, it should baffle you that a man has made it to that level of prosperity and capacity, as far as politics, power and influence are concerned, and yet you cannot pin anything on him,” Oyor said.
He added that given the nature of Nigerian politics, he found it unusual that no damaging information had emerged against Obi.
“Do you know how strange that is in this country? If there’s anything they could have found, they would have found it by now. Pastors can’t even boast of that,” he added.
