In a bold and strategic move to consolidate support ahead of the August 16 Anambra South Senatorial by-election, the campaign team of Sir Azuka Okwuosa, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held a series of high-level reconciliation and mobilization meetings across the zone on Tuesday, August 6, 2025.

The day began with a pivotal reconciliation meeting between the APC Anambra South Campaign Organization and the aggrieved faction led by Hon. Obinna Uzoh, represented by Hon. Fab Ozoigbo. The session, which was also attended by other key party figures such as Hon. Simon Izuorah, emphasized unity and collaboration as the only path to electoral victory. Hon. Fab Ozoigbo commended the Okwuosa team for the peace gesture, stressing that the primary election was over and the focus must now shift to winning the senatorial and gubernatorial elections for the APC.

Responding on behalf of the campaign, the Director-General, Hon. Theo Nnorom, acknowledged past grievances, appealed for unity, and urged members to work with their ward chairmen for the overall success of the party. He emphasized that victory in the senatorial by-election would set the tone for APC’s performance in the November 8 gubernatorial election.

The campaign train then moved to Ekwulumili, Nnewi South LGA, where Okwuosa met with a determined group of local APC members who pledged to deliver massive votes for him on August 16, as a show of strength and loyalty ahead of the gubernatorial contest.

In a significant show of support, the campaign team visited the Awka office of Professor Obiora Okonkwo (Dike Ora), a 2025 APC gubernatorial aspirant. In a phone address placed on speaker, Prof. Okonkwo directed his Anambra South supporters to collapse their structure into the Okwuosa campaign, assuring Sir Azuka of his full backing. Okwuosa, in response, promised to reward their loyalty with effective representation and political inclusion.

Later in the day, the campaign train arrived at the Ezinifite residence of Chief Samson Umejidike (Ugoebenaja), founder of the influential Anambra Women of Substance organization. In a strategic engagement with female political leaders across the zone, the women pledged to mobilize and vote massively for Okwuosa, convinced of his capacity to offer meaningful and people-oriented representation in the Senate.

Among those on the campaign entourage were the DG, Hon. Theo Nnorom; Chief Chike Obidigbo (Osisioma); Sir Oselloka Offoh, former MD of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS); Hon. Goddy Offor, Ekwusigo LGA APC Chairman; Mrs. Ify Agbanu; Mrs. Grace Unegbe; the ACN Legacy Group led by Hon. Ike Ekwensi (Agunechemba), and several other prominent grassroots mobilizers and media personnel.

With just days to the election, political analysts say the growing momentum, reconciliation efforts, and broad-based endorsements are positioning Sir Azuka Okwuosa and the APC for a potential landslide victory in Anambra South.
