Ministry of Justice Alleges Review of Detention Case of ‘Justice Crack’

Barrister Marshal

There is ongoing discussion at the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja over the reported case of an individual identified as Justice Crack, amid calls for his release and withdrawal of charges.

According to a statement attributed to a legal practitioner, Barrister Marshal, the Minister of Justice is said to have acknowledged concerns surrounding the case and is reportedly reviewing the circumstances leading to the individual’s detention.

The statement further claimed that a consensus was reached on the principle that no Nigerian citizen who assists in exposing corruption or wrongdoing should be penalised for such actions, describing such conduct as patriotic.

It was also alleged that discussions touched on broader concerns regarding the treatment of whistleblowers, with emphasis on ensuring that individuals who expose alleged corruption are not subjected to intimidation, unlawful detention, or abuse.

Barrister Marshal further maintained that Justice Crack is not a criminal and should not be prosecuted, insisting that the case amounts to punishment for speaking out against alleged misconduct.

However, as of press time, there has been no official confirmation from the Ministry of Justice regarding any final decision on the matter or the status of the case.
