India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that he received a phone call from U.S. President Donald Trump, during which both leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

In a statement, Modi said the conversation focused on strengthening the “Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership” between India and the United States, with commitments to deepen collaboration in key areas including trade, security, and global stability.

The two leaders also discussed developments in West Asia, expressing concern over regional tensions and emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability in the region.

According to Modi, special attention was given to ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and secure, given its critical role in global energy supply and maritime trade routes.
