N7.65bn Fraud: Orji Uzor Kalu To Lose 300 Billion Naira

That Orji Uzo Kalu has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for misappropriating the Abia state fund worth 7.1 billion naira when he was the governor of the state between 1999-2007/is no longer the news, the disturbing news is the court ordered FG to wind down and take over his company Slok Group.

Slok Group is Orji Uzor Kalu is a West African conglomerate with interests in shipping, banking, oil trading, manufacturing and the media.

Orji Uzo Kalu is one of the richest Igbo man with about 1 billion dollar net worth. It is unfortunate that Orji Uzo Kalu and his company worth about 300 billion naira is going down over a fraud of about 7.1 billion naira.

This is an eye opener to our leaders especially our Igbo governors. Former governor Orji Uzo Kalu was heard begging the prison officials not to handcuff him in the public after he was convicted.

“Where are you taking us to now? Please don’t handcuff me. I will follow you,” the former Abia governor was quoted.
