
The Anaocha Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has honoured Hon. Okey Wali, SAN, a past President of the Nigerian Bar Association, by naming a hall after him in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and the advancement of justice in Nigeria.
The honour, described as both symbolic and well-deserved, reflects Wali’s enduring legacy and his remarkable impact during and beyond his tenure as President of the Association. Members of the Branch noted that the gesture underscores a strong culture of appreciation, institutional memory, and respect for exemplary leadership within the Bar.
Speaking on the development, legal practitioner Ada Chika Udobi, Esq. (JP), commended the initiative, stating that naming a hall after a distinguished legal icon goes beyond mere recognition and serves as a lasting source of inspiration for both young and senior members of the profession.
Udobi also praised the leadership of the Anaocha Branch, particularly all the past and present Chairmen, for their visionary leadership, dedication, and commitment to unity, growth, and progress within the Branch. She further acknowledged the influence and support of Emeka Obegolu, SAN (Akajugo Global), whose leadership and contributions continue to inspire excellence within the Bar.
According to her, the recognition initiative is a testament to purposeful leadership and a deep commitment to upholding the values and traditions of the legal profession.
She further applauded the Anaocha Branch for setting a commendable standard for other branches to emulate, describing the development as a laudable achievement that reinforces the importance of honouring excellence and preserving legacy within the legal community.
