NEPAD kicks of Training of Youths In Awka

The New Partnership for African Development, NEPAD Nigeria yesterday Monday kicked off a Skills Aquisition Training for Youths in Awka.

The training which is expected to last for 2-weeks is sponsored by Senator Uche Ekwunife, the Senator-elect Anambra Central.

Participants will acquire skills on Shoe making, bag making a host of other skills.

Speaking to newsmen during the commencement of the training at Senator Uche Ekwunife Centre on Monday, Senator Ekwunife stated that the training will afford participating youths who were selected across the local governments in the Senatorial zone the oppoturnity to learn skills that would help them become self reliant. She noted that the training which is attracted from the Presidency will give the participating youths the opportunity to hone their skills in the areas of training.

Ekwunife equally highlighted the need for youths to be given the chance to acquire skills that will ameliorate the challenges of youth unemployment. She urged participants to embrace the opportunity of the training which is designed to mitigate the challenges of unemployment in the Senatorial district.
