The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has asked members of the technical crew of the Super Falcons to step down with immediate effect.
The decision comes eight days after Nigeria were knocked out of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after losing 1-0 to rivals Cameroon in a quarter-final match on August 8, 2026.
The defeat saw the female national team lose automatic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Super Falcons also lost 2-1 to South Africa in the play-off.
The Super Falcons technical crew is led by Head Coach, Justin Madugu, who apologised to Nigerians and accepted responsibility after the team failed to qualify for the World Cup.
