A notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Ummaru, said any attempt by government forces to kill 10 bandits would result in 20 more rising in retaliation, Kill 30 and more will Emerge in both cities and villages

Ummaru made the remark on Saturday during a peace dialogue held between bandit groups and community leaders in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

He cautioned security operatives against continued offensives, insisting that the dialogue process would only yield results if all parties exercised restraint.

The meeting, which was convened to foster peace and reconciliation, follows renewed efforts by stakeholders to end the spate of banditry in Katsina and neighbouring states.

Community elders present at the dialogue urged both the bandits and security agencies to commit to genuine peace for the safety of residents.
