Obidient Supporter Rejects ADC, Calls for Fresh Political Platform Ahead of 2027

A supporter of Peter Obi has strongly rejected calls for members of the Obidient movement to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as indistinguishable from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement attributed to Godwin Offor, the Obidient movement member argued that backing the ADC would amount to endorsing “a refurbished APC,” insisting that both parties share similar political DNA and legacy issues.

Offor criticized what he described as the recycling of political actors, alleging that individuals associated with the ADC were previously linked to the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari and have since fallen out with current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We cannot claim to be removing chronic looters and destiny destroyers only to replace them with the same caliber of politicians,” the statement read, emphasizing the need for a clean break from established political structures.

The Obidient supporter maintained that the movement is driven by “credibility, capacity, and character,” and warned against what he termed “refurbished career politicians” seeking political relevance under new platforms.

In contrast, Offor expressed support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as a “new bride” with no historical baggage or record of corruption. He argued that a fresh political platform offers an opportunity to build a new national narrative without ties to past governance failures.

The statement concluded with a direct appeal to Obi, urging him to provide clear leadership direction ahead of the 2027 elections, while reaffirming the loyalty of his supporters.
