Controversial Nigerian pastor and self-styled “Indaboski Bahose,” Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has sparked fresh debate after declaring that Nigeria is “better than America” during a recent sermon following his trip to the United States.
Speaking to his congregation, Odumeje reflected on his experiences abroad, noting the cultural differences between Nigeria and the U.S., especially in terms of human interaction and community life.
“If we can build our country, Nigeria is better than America,” Odumeje proclaimed from the pulpit. “Over there, people mind their business to the point it can hurt you. But in Nigeria, at least you can talk freely with your neighbours.”
The popular Onitsha-based cleric, known for his dramatic style of preaching and unconventional methods, emphasized the importance of communal living and the warmth of Nigerian society.
Odumeje recently returned from a trip to the United States, where he reportedly ministered at a series of events and met with members of the Nigerian diaspora.
