
The newly reconstituted Board of Enyimba Economic City Development Company, led by its Chairman, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, on Friday, August 14, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, at the Governor’s office.
Speaking during the visit, Mazi Ohuabunwa commended Governor Otti for his exceptional leadership and the remarkable work his administration is doing across Abia State in the last three years.
“Since you came, we can all proudly walk around and say we have somebody who is showing the light of what governance is all about. Especially when we talk about democratic dividends,” he said.
“Democratic dividends used to be a theoretical concept for most Nigerians. But now we can see it. We now drive on good roads and witness visible development across the State.”
The Board Chairman described Enyimba Economic City as a “pan-Igbo project” and said the team was in Government House to explore areas of collaboration with the Abia State Government under Governor Otti’s leadership.
“Our desire is that the good job you started will be completed. We need to know what we can do individually and collectively. We would like to know how we can assist you and assist your government,” Mazi Ohuabunwa stated.
He assured the Governor of the board’s individual and collective support toward the success of his administration.
In his response, Governor Otti thanked the delegation for the visit and reiterated his administration’s commitment to pursuing policies and programmes that advance the welfare and security of the people, while creating a conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
Governor Otti congratulated Mazi Ohuabunwa on his appointment as Chairman of the reconstituted board and expressed optimism that the board, comprising experienced professionals, will contribute meaningfully to the development of the State.
Other members of the delegation are; Professor Barth Nnaji, Professor Osita Ogbu, Ambassador Okey Emuchay, Major-General Obi Abel Umahi (Rtd), Chief Onyeuku Chidi Ajaegbu among others while the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN), the Principal Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer, Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation, Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor and the SSA to the Governor on New Media, Comrade S.O.B. Igwe joined the Governor during the meeting.
