
The Ondo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has commenced the repair of traffic lights in Akure, the state capital.
The repair work, which began earlier this week according to one of the Engineers is aimed at restoring functionality to several non-operational traffic control systems across major junctions in the city. The move is seen as part of the current administration’s commitment to improving traffic management, reducing road accidents, and enhancing urban order.
Akelicious correspondent who visited the scene reported the presence of engineers working on the damaged infrastructure. Security operatives from the Ondo State Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, were also sighted providing protection and maintaining order during the course of the repairs.
The government is yet to release an official statement detailing the scope and timeline of the repairs, but the ongoing activities indicate a proactive step towards addressing long-standing concerns raised by motorists and pedestrians in the state capital.
