Eneh Victor Chigozie has predicted victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election, saying the party is poised to take control of the state from the incumbent administration.
In a statement ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship poll, Chigozie said the “indices are now clear” that Governor Ademola Adeleke would be defeated at the ballot box.
According to him, the level of mobilisation by the APC in Osun differs significantly from the party’s approach during last year’s Anambra State governorship election, where he claimed no APC governor campaigned for the party and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) was largely absent.
Chigozie argued that the APC has demonstrated a stronger commitment to the Osun election, noting that the party’s structures and several APC governors have been actively involved in the campaign and mobilisation efforts across the state.
He said the presence of the party’s leadership and campaign structures in Osun showed that the APC was determined to challenge the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration.
“APC will take over Osun State tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th,” Chigozie said, expressing confidence that the party would defeat Adeleke.
He also pointed to the large crowd at the APC rally in Osogbo as another indication of growing support for the party among Osun voters.
According to him, the turnout at the rally was a “signal” that the people of Osun were backing the APC ahead of the election.
However, Chigozie’s prediction remains a political assessment, and the actual outcome will be determined by voters when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducts the election on Saturday.
The Osun governorship election is expected to be closely contested, with the APC and PDP among the major parties seeking to secure victory in the poll.
