Osun Election Shows ‘Evil Has an Expiry Date’ – Pat Utomi

Political economist and former presidential candidate, Prof. Pat Utomi, has said the just-concluded Osun State governorship election proved that “evil has an expiry date.”

Utomi, in a post on X on Tuesday, said the outcome of the election also showed that even the “unworthy” could be used to stop what he described as “the train.”

“If Osun elections proved a point, it is that evil has an expiry date and that even the unworthy can be used to stop the train,” he wrote.

He added that the election reinforced his belief that righteousness was essential to national progress.

“Righteousness does indeed exalt a nation and its opposite is a reproach to any people,” Utomi said.

The political economist also took a swipe at governors who defected from their political parties, describing their actions as one of the biggest shames associated with the Osun election.

“The biggest shame of Osun were the ‘defecting’ Governors who left town in the cover of darkness like rain-drenched hens,” he wrote.

Utomi further accused the governors of betraying the people, saying they would eventually face judgment for their actions.

“Judgement for betrayal of the people still awaits them,” he added.
