The People’s Democratic Party has called for total loyalty from its members across the country as it intensifies preparations for its national elective convention scheduled for August 25 in Ibadan, Oyo State. National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, said all members are expected to demonstrate full commitment to the party’s constitution, leadership, and internal processes.

He confirmed that two major committees, the zoning committee and the national convention organizing committee, have been constituted and are already carrying out their duties.

The party said the decision to hold the convention in Ibadan has been widely welcomed by members across the country, with many expressing enthusiasm over the choice of location given the Southwest’s historical role in the country’s democratic development. Preparations are ongoing, with the Oyo State Government playing a key role in supporting local organizing efforts.

Ologunagba noted that the party is addressing internal challenges through its conflict resolution mechanisms to ensure stability and unity ahead of the convention. He reiterated that the PDP remains committed to its founding values and a people-oriented leadership model.

He also acknowledged the performance of PDP governors in states such as Taraba, Bauchi, Plateau, Bayelsa, Osun, and Oyo, particularly in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, education, and health, which he said have attracted international attention.
