During the funeral Mass, Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji reflected on the inevitability of death and praised the late bishop as a courageous and devoted shepherd whose life was defined by sacrifice, service, and faithfulness to his calling.

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, also paid tribute to the deceased cleric, describing him as a monumental loss to the state and a pathfinder whose influence extended beyond religious boundaries.

Obi noted that the Archbishop’s homily emphasized the moral demands of leadership and the responsibility placed on both religious and political leaders to work for the good of society.

Also present at the ceremony was Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, who represented the Holy Father and stressed the unity of the Universal Church during the period of mourning.

The former Anambra governor further commended Bishop Ernest Obodo for providing leadership and ensuring a smooth funeral arrangement for the late bishop.
