Police Arrest Chief Priest, Others Over Alleged ‘R@ping Festival’ in Ozoro, Delta State

The Nigeria Police have arrested the Chief Priest in Ozoro, alongside several leaders of the Oramudhu group, over their alleged involvement in organizing a controversial festival that reportedly led to multiple cases of s£xual ass@ult in Ozoro community, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to reports, the suspects allegedly planned and carried out the festival without the knowledge or approval of the traditional ruler of the community. Authorities say the event sparked outrage after disturbing videos surfaced online showing young women crying for help and alleging that groups of men attacked them during the celebration.

Sources within the community disclosed that the festival was allegedly promoted as a period where women who came out at night could be targeted, a claim that triggered widespread condemnation from Nigerians on social media and human rights advocates.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that the Chief Priest and several Oramudhu leaders have been taken into custody as investigations continue. Police authorities also stated that more arrests may follow as they work to identify other individuals involved in the planning and execution of the event.
