A popular content creator based in Asaba, Delta State, has reportedly been arrested by the police following allegations that he raped a 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro, who later died by suicide.
According to activist Comrade Israel Joe, who shared details of the incident on Facebook, the deceased, identified as Favour Agbro from Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, had contacted the content creator after he allegedly advertised that he trained young people on how to monetize their TikTok and Facebook accounts.
Israel Joe alleged that Favour travelled to Asaba for the promised training, where the suspect invited her to a hotel under the pretext of conducting the session. He further claimed that despite informing the man beforehand that she was a virgin and not interested in any romantic relationship, she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
According to the activist, Favour later informed her twin sister and mother about the alleged incident before returning to Warri. He also alleged that after seeking help from an activist, she became discouraged and subsequently died by suicide after ingesting a poisonous substance.
Israel Joe further claimed that the suspect, described as a 44-year-old popular content creator known as “Odogwo Asaba,” has since been arrested by the police.
