“True leadership is not about position or power, but about purpose, integrity, and the courage to serve beyond self.”
In a political environment often defined by shifting loyalties and fleeting convictions, Sir Azuka Uchechukwu Okwuosa (Chinyelugo), KSC emerges as a rare exception — a leader whose life and career have been built on the enduring pillars of service, integrity, loyalty, and an abiding fear of God.
Born on 3rd November 1959 in Jos, Plateau State, Azuka Okwuosa is a proud son of Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State. A devout Christian, a patriot, and a respected statesman, his lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of his people and the progress of Anambra South has earned him a distinguished place in the hearts of Ndị Anambra.
A foundation rooted in education
Sir Azuka’s academic journey began at All Saints Primary School, Irefi, Oraifite, and continued through Colliery Comprehensive Secondary School, Ngwo, Enugu. He further honed his skills and knowledge at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, where he obtained both his OND and HND. He also holds a certificate from Samuel Bible Institute, Lagos, a reflection of his commitment to personal growth and spiritual grounding.
From public service to statesmanship
A man of action, Sir Azuka’s professional and political journey has spanned various leadership roles. He began his career with stints at Government Press, Enugu and TIDE Newspaper, Port Harcourt during his NYSC year before moving into the private sector as Managing Director/CEO of Nimex Leads Limited, Enugu.
In public service, he served as Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area and later as Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Transport, overseeing transformative projects that left indelible marks on the state’s infrastructure and development agenda.
He also chaired vital committees, including the Transition Implementation Sub-Committee for Works, Housing and Transport, and the Reconciliation Committee for warring communities in the state — a testament to his abilities as a peacebuilder and consensus leader.
A loyal party man, bridge-builder and grassroots mobiliser
From the inception of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Sir Azuka has been a consistent and strategic stakeholder. He served as Deputy Director General of the APC Campaign Organization during the 2017 Anambra Gubernatorial Election, and chaired both the Flag-off Rally in Onitsha and the Grand Finale at Ekwueme Square, Awka, in the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari.
His loyalty and commitment to party supremacy saw him willingly bow to party interests in 2021, shelving his gubernatorial ambition to pursue a senatorial ticket — a gesture of uncommon maturity in today’s political climate.
Sir Azuka has also served in numerous reconciliatory and strategic committees, including the APC Anambra Gubernatorial Primaries Reconciliation Committee, 2025, and is a pioneer chairman of the ACN Legacy Group. His political history is rich with experience, credibility, and proven capacity.
The senator Anambra South deserves
If legislation means effective engagement with constituents, creation and evaluation of impactful laws, and oversight of government operations, then Sir Azuka Okwuosa is, without doubt, the most eminently qualified contender for the Anambra South Senatorial seat.
A man of unwavering principles, proven leadership, and genuine compassion for his people, he embodies the kind of representation Anambra South needs at this critical point in its history.
As the 2025 elections approach, the call is clear:
Let’s make a senator all of us will be proud of.
