Professor Gabriel Ogbuife Chukwubuikem Ajah, mni, has been celebrated on the occasion of his 64th birthday, with admirers and beneficiaries of his generosity describing him as an exceptional scholar, statesman and philanthropist whose life has positively impacted countless people.
In a heartfelt tribute, Prince Ejeh Josh praised the former Secretary to the Government of Enugu State for his outstanding contributions to public service, education and human development, noting that Prof. Ajah’s legacy extends beyond the offices he held to the lives he has transformed over the decades.
The tribute highlighted Prof. Ajah’s journey from his humble beginnings in Nkerefi, Enugu State, to becoming a respected academic, Professor of English Language and Literature, accomplished administrator and elder statesman. It noted that throughout his career, he served with distinction as Permanent Secretary in several ministries before rising to the position of Secretary to the Government of Enugu State.
Beyond his public service, the celebrant was commended for his commitment to education and philanthropy. According to the tribute, Prof. Ajah has supported numerous students through scholarships, paid school fees for indigent learners, mentored young professionals, empowered families and contributed to the development of educational institutions, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.
