The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, on Wednesday, attended the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Flag-Off ahead of the 30th August Local Government Elections.
The colourful event, held at the Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt, drew party leaders, candidates, stakeholders, and enthusiastic supporters from the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.
Addressing the crowd, Rt. Hon. Amaewhule reaffirmed the PDP’s readiness to secure overwhelming victory in the upcoming polls, describing the party as the only platform with a proven record of delivering people-oriented governance in Rivers State; urging party faithful to remain steadfast in mobilizing grassroot support ahead of the elections.
The campaign flag-off featured the official presentation of the party’s candidates for the Councils’ Chairmanship and Councillorship positions, amidst musical performances, solidarity speeches, and the symbolic hoisting of the party’s flag to signal the start of the campaign season.
The PDP in Rivers State appears to be confident in retaining its dominance at the grassroot level with the 30th August, 2025 Local Government Elections in Rivers State.
