Hajiya Maimunatu Abubakar, Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), has advised the management and staff of the state’s Fire Service to guard and protect its facilities from vandals.

Abubakar gave the advice in an interview with the Nigeria News Agency , on Friday in Kaduna.

“Government has spent huge sums to provide these facilities; we want those using them to protect them from misuse and theft,” he said.

Abubakar, however, assured Kaduna residents that more fire equipment and trucks would be purchased to boost the service’s capacity to respond to disasters in any part of the state.

She commended the efforts of the fire fighting outfit toward creating awareness on ways to prevent and respond to fire disaster, and promised to make her visits to the fire fighting outfits more regular.
