Senate 2023: Please Seek Re-election, Umunnachi Community Urges Uche Ekwunife

— As Lawmaker Flags Off Road Project In The Community

With the next general elections still more than a year away, the people of Umunnachi community in Dunukofia LGA have advised the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, to consider seeking re-election in 2023.

The President General of the community, Arch. Frank Okechukwu Okonkwo, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, while speaking during the flag-off of T-junction to Ezi Nne-Agu/Eziowelle road, Mgbuke village, Umunnachi noted that Ekwunife has achieved a lot in the last few years in the National Assembly, adding that the people of Umunnachi are 100% committed in making sure that the A-grade lawmaker is re-elected to continue her excellent representation.

According to him, “we owe our support to the Senator owing to the fact that she is doing very well in the National Assembly. Prosperity will be kind to Ekwunife because of the very important road in the community, the popular Eke to Eke road with dual drainage system she is here to flag off.”

In his remarks, Chief Onochie Okagbue went down the memory lane of the plethora of projects Ekwunife attracted as a member of green chamber, adding that she has not looked back in giving the zone the best representation as a Senator. He noted that even though the primary responsibility of Ekwunife as a lawmaker is to make laws, she has kept attracting developmental projects across the zone.

“We are very glad that the road which has been impassable for 20 years is receiving attention courtesy of Ekwunife’s legislative prowess, let her not be deterred because we will ensure she returns to the Senate”, he assured.

In his speech, Dr Oliver Onwuahuru described the A-grade lawmaker as a representative Ndi Anambra are proud of, stressing that the commencement of the road project is an evolving development. He noted that Ekwunife has been very articulate and positive in her legislative engagements.

While indicating that the road would open up the community upon completion, the stakeholder prayed God to continue to give Ekwunife the strength and blessings to sustain her hard work in the National Assembly.

Appreciating, the Chairman of the PDP Dunukofia LGA, Mr. Chigbo Dibiezue thanked Ekwunife for her initiative in attracting the project, adding that the PDP family in the LGA are proud of her.

Earlier, Ekwunife noted that only God and the good people of Anambra Central would decide her fate in 2023, adding that she is focused on delivering the best representation the constituents deserve. She reassured commitment towards completing all the ongoing projects in the zone.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science Technology and Innovation who was represented by a delegation of her project team led by Anambra state former Commissioner of Women Affairs Lady Henrietta Agbata further noted that more projects would be flagged off before the end of the year.

The delegation was warmly received by the Onowu of the Umunnachi, Chief Augustine Nwachuya who stood in for the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Igwebuike Ben Anochie.
