Senator representing Anambra North and Senate Minority Whip, Tony Okechukwu Nwoye, has paid glowing tribute to the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, on the occasion of his 85th birthday celebration.
In a goodwill message released on Thursday, Senator Nwoye described the revered monarch as a symbol of wisdom, courage, dignity and exemplary leadership whose reign has brought honor and progress to the ancient kingdom of Onicha Ado N’idu.
The senator praised Obi Achebe’s role in preserving the customs and traditions of the Onitsha Kingdom while promoting peace, unity and sustainable development among the people.
According to him, the throne of Ezechima has remained a beacon of justice, cultural pride and visionary leadership under the monarch’s stewardship.
Nwoye also prayed for continued divine strength, sound health and many more fruitful years for the royal father, expressing hope that the monarch’s 85th birthday would usher in greater harmony, prosperity and the flourishing of Igbo heritage.
He further described the Obi’s life and reign as a source of pride and inspiration to Onitsha, Anambra State and the entire Igbo nation.
