Goski, the personal assistant to Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, has announced the end of their four-year working relationship, accusing the entertainer of exploitation, poor treatment and inadequate compensation for his contributions to the singer’s career.
Goski made the announcement in a public statement, thanking Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Achakpo, for the opportunity to work with him while making it clear that he would no longer be involved in the singer’s affairs.
“I’m no longer with Speedy. Nobody should call me, nobody should involve me or text me about booking him or whatever it is,” he said.
Explaining his decision, Goski alleged that Speed Darlington wanted a personal assistant he could intimidate rather than someone who would contribute meaningfully to his career by securing bookings, creating content and connecting him with potential clients.
He claimed to have played a significant role in securing opportunities for the singer, adding that he introduced him to several clients and influential individuals who helped advance his career.
Goski also recounted his alleged sacrifices during Speed Darlington’s arrest, claiming that he travelled to Abuja several times and spent his personal money to help resolve issues surrounding the incident.
Despite these contributions, he alleged that he was not adequately rewarded for the work he put into securing opportunities for the entertainer.
According to Goski, Speed Darlington received ₦30 million from a deal but paid him only ₦250,000, an amount he described as disproportionate to his efforts.
“₦250,000, 0.75 per cent out of ₦30 million. Not even one per cent. Not even one million,” he said.
Goski further claimed that Speed Darlington had previously promised to pay him six per cent from every job he secured. However, he alleged that the singer later argued that there was no formal contract between them.
He also accused the entertainer of failing to cover his transportation expenses, claiming that he frequently paid out of his pocket despite making arrangements for Speed Darlington and his assistant to travel by air.
Expressing disappointment over what he described as poor treatment after four years of loyalty and service, Goski questioned whether the absence of a formal agreement justified the way he was allegedly treated.
“Even if I don’t have a contract with you, does it mean that you keep me like trash?” he asked.
The former personal assistant concluded by reiterating his decision to end the relationship, stating that he was no longer interested in working with Speed Darlington and was open to collaborating with other individuals.
“I’m not with Speedy, and I’ll never be with him anymore,” he said.
