
Troops of Sector 8 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected cattle rustler during a security operation in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspect was apprehended at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Gesin Village following intelligence-led operations targeting criminal activities in the area.
Security sources disclosed that during preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to taking part in the rustling of cattle belonging to the Village Head of Baban Rigi in an incident that occurred on July 19.
The suspect remains in military custody and is expected to undergo further investigation before being handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution.
