Anambra was thrown into shock yesterday following reports that Chief Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi, an illustrious son of Awkuzu ancient kingdom, was allegedly harassed after paying a courtesy visit to Igwe Ukwulu’s palace.
Eyewitnesses say that some unidentified youths confronted him shortly after he exchanged pleasantries with the traditional ruler. His police escorts, who were outside the palace premises at the time, later intervened to restore calm.
It was gathered that Chief Kosi has recently spoken against alleged land sales in Awkuzu, a matter that has stirred heated debates in the community.
