The Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Hussaini Umar has been suspended from office based on a directive from the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle.
According to the Governor’s directive, the suspension is with immediate effect.
Governor Matawalle also approved that the affairs of the Emirate be managed in the interim by the District Head of Dansadau, Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad S/Kudu.
Similarly, the Governor in a statement by his Special Adviser Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication, Mallam Zailani Bappa, also suspended with immediate effect the District Head of Nasarawa Mailayi, Alhaji Bello Wakkala.
The statement also conveyed the Governor’s approval for the setting up of a high-powered committee to investigate the activities of the suspended traditional title holders of Dansadau and Nassarawa Mailayi.
The Committee members comprise of DIG Mohammed Ibrahim Tsafe (rtd) as Chairman; Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma, Hon. Ibrahim T Tukur, Sheikh Ahmad Umar Kanoma, Sheikh Abdullahi Umar Dalla Dalla, Sheikh Kabir Umar Maru as members while Barrister Abdurrashid Haruna would serve as Secretary.
Matawalle also reiterated that the presidency order to security operatives on the shooting of any bandit, person or group seen bearing illegal firearms remain in place in Zamfara State.
In a related development, Naija News also reports that Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect.
The Governor also sacked all Chairmen and members of the state Commissions and Boards of various agencies.
Also affected by the Governor’s directive are the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff, and the Deputy Chief of Staff.
The directive was contained in a statement on Monday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, media and Communications, Zailani Bappa.
