President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the allocation of land parcels in Abuja for 70 ambassador-designates, in what officials describe as part of efforts to support Nigeria’s diplomatic community.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, disclosed this on Tuesday, April 29, while addressing journalists in Abuja. According to him, each of the ambassador-designates will receive a plot of land within the nation’s capital.
Wike explained that the approval aligns with the administration’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and providing a conducive environment for foreign representatives. He noted that the initiative is also aimed at encouraging the timely establishment of official residences and missions by the envoys.
The minister added that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will ensure that all necessary documentation and processes are completed promptly to facilitate the allocations.
