Chairman of Heirs Holdings and UBA, Tony Elumelu, has pledged N25 billion to the Produce for Lagos programme, an initiative aimed at boosting food security, job creation, and economic development across Lagos State.
The announcement was made earlier today, July 23, 2025, during the official launch of the programme and the N500 billion Offtake Guarantee Fund at Lagos House, Ikeja.
Elumelu praised the initiative as a bold step toward economic inclusion and youth empowerment, stressing the need to invest in agriculture to tackle unemployment. He noted that the commitment, the largest private sector contribution so far, would be disbursed through UBA to support food systems transformation and job creation.
He also pledged continued collaboration through UBA, Transcorp, Heirs Holdings, and the Tony Elumelu Foundation to ensure the success of the programme.
