Too Much Money Turned Him into a Rude Kid — Dele Momodu Slams Wike

Dele Momodu and Wike

Veteran journalist and media mogul, Aare Dr. Dele Momodu, has fired back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following the minister’s appearance on Politics Today, a political programme hosted by Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television.

In a strongly worded statement titled “Nyesom Wike: A Bull in the China Shop”, Momodu accused the minister of being intoxicated and launching verbal attacks on political figures and critics in a manner unbecoming of a public servant.

Momodu recalled his past interactions with Wike, including granting him a right of reply after a controversial interview with IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. He also claimed to have helped improve Wike’s public image through media exposure and lifestyle guidance, suggesting the former Rivers State Governor has since allowed power and wealth to cloud his judgment.

“He was our boy then, but too much money has now turned him into a rude kid,” Momodu stated, describing Wike’s alleged behavior as a “despicable assault on our hard-earned democracy.”

Momodu further mocked Wike’s comments about offering him food, saying: “His crass food was not the type anyone would actually savor… I tooched him up like a beauty therapist.” He asserted that he had been “balling globally” long before Wike entered political relevance.

The Ovation Magazine publisher has now requested a right of reply on Channels TV next Monday to, in his words, “copiously show Nigerians, and President Bola Tinubu in particular, the type of loose cannon he has unleashed on hapless citizens in the name of politics.”
