Umahi Vows To Reposition Ebonyi Healthcare, Educational Systems

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has vowed to reposition healthcare and educational systems and institutions in the State, no matter what it would cost.

Umahi, who made the vow on Tuesday during the flag off of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and State Health Insurance Scheme, at Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, said a lot of fake, substandard and expired drugs were being sold, especially in the rural areas in the State.

The Governor attributed the increase in kidney, liver, and cancer problems among the people to the consumption of substandard, fake and expired drugs.

He expressed dismay that the health officials in the State were doing nothing to curb the ugly trend.
