An aide to Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has come out to ask the Buhari led Federal Government why they are treating two citizens of the country in a different manner.
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of the Biafra (IPOB) has been placed on the wanted list while the Federal Government also Proscribed the group as a terrorist organization. The FG few yeas ago made it known that IPOB is an organization whose activities in the south eastern part of the country is causing chaos and may incite ethnic violence in the country.
On the other hand, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, an Islamic Cleric from the North has been under the spotlight in recent times over his involvement in the issue between Bandits and the FG. Gumi had as part of his peace mission reached out to bandits in their hideouts to preach and encourage them to stop the attacks they are launching in the North.
However, Gumi became a subject of criticism after he made a controversial statement that the bandits should not be tagged as criminals and be granted amnesty. Apart from that, he told the bandits during one of his visits that Non Muslim Soldiers are the ones killing them and causing crisis in the North.
This statement by Gumi after gaining attention sparked reactions on various social media platform as people say he is trying to incite war in the Military thus calling for the FG to arrest him stating that he has no right to meddle into such an affair.
In a new development, the National Security Adviser recently made it known that Sheikh Gumi had said that he will help the government to tackle and end the issue of banditry in the North. All these issues made social media users blast the FG and the NSA saying that Sheikh Gumi is being celebrated instead of being arrested over his controversial statements on the issue of banditry.
While reacting on the issue, Reno Omokri took to his twitter account to ask questions on why Nnamdi Kanu was outlawed while Sheikh Gumi is a free man despite his inciting and unverified statement to the media.
In his tweet, he said ” Why is @MaziNnamdiKanu wanted by the Nigerian Government, while Sheikh Gumi is a celebrated by the Buhari administration? Is it justice that a man who lied about Christian soldiers killing Muslim herdsmen to ‘ignite crisis’ remains a free, but Kanu is outlawed”?
