FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that his political alignment with President Bola Tinubu remains unshakable, as he mobilised Rivers State stakeholders to support the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Wike spoke on October 2 while addressing stakeholders of Akpor Kingdom in Obio-Akpor LGA, Rivers State, where he called for a broader political structure ahead of the election.
“My interest in Rivers State is for God to use me as a vessel to help our people. I am back here not for what I will get, but for what I will be to raise my people,” Wike said.
He maintained that political differences should not prevent stakeholders from working together, stressing that collective interest should come first.
“There is no permanent enemy in politics. What we have is permanent collective interest,” he said.
Wike also reiterated his pledge to resign as FCT minister if Tinubu fails to win Rivers State and the FCT in 2027.
He urged political actors to expand their support base, saying numerical strength would be crucial during the election.
“The more you are in number, the happier you become,” he said.
Calling for an all-inclusive mobilisation structure in Obio-Akpor, Wike said politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other community stakeholders must be involved.
“Whether you are a politician, whether you are a traditional ruler, whether you are a pastor, or whether you are a native doctor, I need everybody now,” he said.
He also identified Wards 15, 16 and 17 as key areas for mobilisation, noting that the three wards collectively have more than 200 polling units.
