Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara has not sought his forgiveness, responding to a reconciliation appeal from Niger Delta leader Tompolo.
Tompolo, a prominent ex-militant leader, had urged Wike to forgive Fubara to help resolve the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. In response, Wike, through his media aide Lere Olayinka, emphasized that forgiveness requires the offender to acknowledge their wrongdoing and seek pardon.
Olayinka clarified that Wike has not accused Fubara of personal misconduct but has expressed concerns over governance issues. He stated that Fubara should govern in accordance with the rule of law and not disregard those who supported his rise to power. Olayinka added that if Fubara believes he has offended someone, it should be President Bola Tinubu, not Wike.
