X User Commends Peter Mbah, Enugu Police Over Improved Security on Abakpa–Ugwogo Nike–Opi Road

A user on X, identified as Sirjay, has praised Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and the Enugu State Police Command for what he described as significant improvements in security along the Abakpa–Ugwogo Nike–Opi Road.

In a post shared on X, Sirjay recounted travelling on the road for the first time in nearly two years while attending a burial in Orba, explaining that he had previously avoided the route due to recurring kidnapping incidents.

According to him, a neighbour was abducted on the same road two years ago and spent two weeks in captivity, an experience he said left him reluctant to use the route.

Describing his recent journey, Sirjay said he observed a heavy security presence, with DRS police patrol vehicles strategically stationed at regular intervals from a point along the road to Opi.

He noted that he counted more than 20 patrol vehicles and commended the officers for maintaining security without disrupting traffic through unnecessary stop-and-search operations or roadblocks.

He also praised the level of preparedness at the security posts, stating that each location was equipped with tents, beds, chairs and sandbags to support the officers on duty.

Sirjay said the visible security deployment gave motorists a strong sense of safety, adding that several people who travelled from other South-East states for the same event also expressed surprise and admiration for the security measures.

He expressed hope that the proactive approach would be sustained, while commending Governor Peter Mbah and the Enugu State Police Command for their efforts in improving security across the state.
